Fountains of Wayne enter the Billboard Charts in light of Adam Schlesinger’s death

It is heart breaking to say that we lost a very talented musician due to to complications from COVID-19 a couple of days ago.

Rest in peace Adam Schlesinger.

He was part of and co-founder of the iconic Punk Rock band ‘Fountains of Wayne’, and was most famous for co-writing ‘Stacey’s Mom‘, which is one of those tracks that EVERYONE knows and loves.

In light of Adam’s death, Fountains of Wayne have appeared in the Billboard charts thanks to the increased downloads of their FULL discography. Some may consider F.O.W a one hit wonder, but their place in the Billboard charts have been well and truly earned thanks to all of their music. But saying that, Stacey’s Mom brought a staggering 184% increase in streams from the end of March, and was downloaded over 1.7 million times; which really is incredible.

Taken from Billboard:

From April 1-4, the band’s music earned 3.5 million U.S. on-demand streams, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. That marked a 400% increase over the previous four days (March 28-31), during which the group’s streams numbered 692,000.

We are sending our best wishes to Adam’s family and friends during these very testing times.
