The English Football team may have made history this year by doing pretty well in The World Cup, but a second star will not be going on the kit.
On a more positive note, we wanted to share with you some of our favourite Rock bands who happen to come from England. We want to highlight why English people should be proud of their country constantly, and not just for when a team of lads get global exposure for a sport.
The Rolling Stones
Most music fans will be familiar with the iconic mouth emblem The Rolling Stones use. And the guys may be getting on in age, but they are still out playing shows for their fans, and killing it on the stage.
Another worldwide known band, and very influential to a lot of musical genres and artists. It would be amazing if one day Roger and David agreed to play together again though right?!!
We all know Every. Single. Word. (pretty much) to Bohemian Rhapsody, and what a belter it is. The music from Queen will never age, and Freddie Mercury remains up there as one of the most iconic and inspiring front mans of a band ever to grace the music scene.
The Stone Roses
If you’re not a fan, the one (and probably only song) you may know is ‘I Wanna Be Adored’. The band are rightly so very iconic within the music scene, and that lemon art work will always be recognised.
The music from The Who is like a British treasure, and is also appreciated by millions of people all around the world. One of the most notorious UK Alternative Rock bands, and their legacy will never die.
Sex Pistols to me are the perfect example of a Punk band, and they are VERY well known for standing out in their own right within the Punk genre. Their records go for hundreds, and Johnny Rotten’s look has inspired thousands.
A band that seem to have become a bit of a symbol for many teenage music fans, and Morrissey really doesn’t like people who have a different view point from his.
Even though the Gallagher’s have gone their separate ways, the music from Oasis will never age, and the fans will never stop hoping for one day, Liam and Noel be back on stage together. Wonderwall is that perfect drunken song, and Little by Little is that perfect song to belt out with your mates. As you were….
Several of the above bands mentioned may have crossed over slightly in terms of the type of music fans they attract, but in the end, they are all British Rock bands, who have successfully formed their legacies, and made a strong impact within the music scene.
