The 1975 Announce their new album, drop a music video, AND debut their new look all at once.

One of the most anticipated comebacks of the year has to have belonged to the alt-pop group The 1975. The group, hailing from Manchester UK, exploded onto the music scene over the past two years with their hits being the soundtrack to many people’s summers.
However, they seemed to disappear into thin air, with the promise to come back better than ever. Initially, the album was rumoured to be titled ‘Music For Cars’ however twitter headers and single imagery all depict the new title to be ‘A BRIEF INQUIRY INTO ONLINE RELATIONSHIPS’. With a plethora of imagery being released on twitter leading up to the release of their new single ‘Give Yourself A Try’.

On May 31st they dropped their new single, along with a music video, for their first single off of the new album titled ‘Give Yourself A Try’ give it a watch below!

As you can probably see, the lead singer’s trademark long black hair is gone, and has been replaced with a choppy vibrant orange cut. Upon seeing this, many have likened their new look to Paramore’s Hayley Williams and her signature orange locks. So much so, that Hayley herself responded to the mass of tweets. Which in turn, prompted the exchange you see below, which has left many fans in awe and hoping that Matty will take her up on her hair dye offer, and maybe become an ambassador for the brand like many other celebrities have.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that the ‘Music For Cars’ title hasn’t been completely abandoned, as the letters ‘MFC’ are shown at the beginning of the new music video, and it seems that it is a nod to their rumoured title, perhaps foreshadowing a future project or single, or in fact, there could still be a different album titled Music For Cars in the works. Matty Healey has already confirmed their working on two albums at once at the moment, so it’s certainly possible.
